Are YOU ready?


I am SO excited to get started!  Almost 4 years ago I reached a huge goal I had made for myself...I had successfully shed 100 pounds through LEARNING about basic nutrition and exercise, and then little by little COURAGEOUSLY adopting those principles into my life.  I am happy to report that for this foodie (I am  still one at heart) those principles which seemed so hard initially are now just part of who I am!

The question came:  Now what?  And then, I uttered words that made me almost cry  "I want to be a trainer."  I wanted to throw up!  I had been obese my ENTIRE life...in fact I do not have a childhood memory where I was a healthy weight.  I did not even take gym in high school due to the complications of my obesity!  But that inner girl....the one who had been struggling to get free...WANTED it.   And so, it became the next mountain to climb.

Here we are!  I have now been certified through NASM for almost 2 years, worked for Snap Fitness, and Gold's Gym where I gained INCREDIBLE experience.  Then, I launched Moxie!, my personalized system of weight loss at Competitive Edge Fitness.  My program is a tad different, because unlike most trainers, I have lived the war of weight loss and the daily battles of overcoming old habits, eating healthy and the negative self talk that kept me in bondage for so many years.  It is a winnable fight, and I PROMISE it is worth the struggle to win.

That is where Moxie comes in!  To me, that is the courage and gumption (provided by YOU) and the knowledge and know-how (provided by me) mixed with some solid motivation and effective tools to change from the inside out.  Trust me, if I can do it...you can too!

My "now what?" question following becoming a trainer was to meet Rachel Cosgrove.  Lofty goal I know, as she is my opinion the best female trainer in the industry, but her work inspired me to continue my quest of losing 100+ pounds, and then to be a trainer as well.
Though I have not reached that goal yet, she does know who I am and accepted my success story to be in her recently released book "Drop Two Sizes", and that is good enough for me!
